X (Twitter) Down Globally Due to Data Center Issue
Elon Musk-owned X, previously known as Twitter, suffered a global outage on May 23, 2025, leaving users unable to access both the app and the website across multiple regions. The platform's engineering team has confirmed that the issue stems from a data center outage.

Thousands of Reports from Affected Users

According to Downdetector.com, over 5,000 users worldwide reported problems with the microblogging platform. Users faced difficulties loading timelines, sending posts, or even logging in.

X Confirms the Outage and Responds

The engineering team at X issued a statement via the official @XEng account on the platform:

“X is aware some of our users are experiencing performance issues on the platform today. We are experiencing a data center outage and the team is actively working to remediate the issue.”

As of the latest update, the issue was still being investigated, and no estimated time for full restoration has been provided.

Previous Incidents and User Concerns

While outages are not new to large-scale platforms, users expressed growing frustration with repeated disruptions since the platform was rebranded and underwent major infrastructure changes under Musk's leadership.

This latest incident highlights the challenges X continues to face in maintaining consistent service globally.
