Gunther Deletes Almost All Tweets, Fans Wonder: “Is Walter Headed to AEW?”

Gunther Deletes Nearly All Tweets, Sparking AEW Speculation Among Fans
Gunther has caused quite a stir online after suddenly almost deleting all posts from his X/Twitter account. The WWE RAW superstar, once a dominant World Heavyweight Champion, now seems to be entering a new phase in and out of the ring—and fans are buzzing with speculation.

Currently set to challenge again for the World Heavyweight Title on the RAW after Money in the Bank, Gunther’s social media purge comes at a critical moment. The only posts he left untouched are those dedicated to his wife, Jinny, leading some fans to believe he’s clearing distractions ahead of a high-stakes match, possibly even involving a same-night cash-in scenario.

Gunther’s last televised match saw him quickly dispatch Pat McAfee at Backlash 2025, but it’s his online silence that’s drawing the loudest reactions now.

Fans Speculate: AEW Move or Burnout?

Reactions to the tweet deletion have ranged from excitement to concern:

“We need Walter in AEW,” wrote one fan, referencing Gunther’s old NXT persona.

Others theorized he’s falling out of love with the business altogether:

“Logan and Jey killed his love for the game.”

“This is what happens when you're stuck wrestling Jey Uso and haven’t had a great match in 6 months.”

Not everyone is reading into it too deeply, though. Some pointed out that WWE superstars aren’t required to be active on social media:

“If my job didn’t require me to tweet, I’d just post about my wife too.”

While AEW speculation is rampant, it’s worth noting that Gunther signed a new WWE contract in late 2024—one that even included a tour bus perk. So for now, a switch to AEW seems unlikely.

Whether this is a focus reset or just a digital detox, The Ring General’s next move—online or in the ring—will be closely watched.
